Recent adviser research revealed significant insights into the information, insights and knowledge that advisers are wanting in order them to enable them to advise clients and recommend investments.
In response, Amplify has teamed up with some of South Africa’s top thinkers and game-changers to empower and enable the investment community to evaluate risk, make better decisions, form better habits and build their own brands. Mo Flava, Ryan Stramrood, Gillian Attwood and Eilat Aviram form the game-changing starting line-up of this new series.
Mo Flava was born Moeti Tsiki in the vibrant neighbourhood of Dube, Soweto, in July 1984. He has evolved MoFlava into a prominent South African media personality, carving an indelible mark in the realms of radio, television, and music. He studied journalism ultimately ending up hosting shows on some of the country’s biggest radio stations – 947 and Metro FM. He sees radio as one of the main drivers not only of information but also of popular culture and perception. Mo delves into the topic of cultural impact of invention and building wealth – how some of the things we learned growing up about money from our parents or whoever raised us or the communities that we grew up in, is good, and some of it not good. But he believes there is a huge link between culture and money.
Ryan Stramrood’s life is a testament to the remarkable potential that resides within us, waiting to be unlocked. A true swimming pioneer, Stramrood has defied icy waters, crossed daunting channels, and redefined the limits of human capability. Hailing from Cape Town, he is not just a swimmer; he is an inspiration, a testament to the power of determination and self-discovery. He has already completed 133 Robben Island-to-mainland crossings and swam solo across the notorious English Channel. With a team of South Africans, he swam the first official “Ice Mile” in -1°C water in Antarctica, completed a swim in the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon in Iceland, and competed in the IISA World Championships in Borghausen, Germany. Ryan will share a failure-to-success story that he experienced from his extreme swimming challenges which relates back to the suggested take outs that offer insight into an “economic or professional” storm which our advisors often face when navigating high risk investment environments.
